Ho ho ho! Santa here, and I am excited to share with you my favorite cookie recipe. As you know, I love cookies, especially during the holiday season when they are left out for me by children all around the world. And there's one cookie that always stands out as my favorite: the classic sugar cookie
Sugar cookies are a classic treat that I simply cannot resist. They are sweet, buttery, and perfectly complement a glass of cold milk. I love that they can be shaped into all kinds of fun designs, too. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned sugar cookie during the holidays?
Now, I know what you're thinking. You want to know my secret recipe for the perfect sugar cookie, right? Well, you're in luck! I am going to share with you my personal recipe for the perfect sugar cookie, just the way I like it.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix well.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until well combined.
  7. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  8. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
  9. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  11. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
And there you have it! My personal recipe for the perfect sugar cookie. But the key to making these cookies truly special is in the decorations. I love seeing all the different designs that children come up with each year, from Christmas trees and snowmen to stars and hearts.
When it comes to decorating sugar cookies, the sky's the limit. You can use sprinkles, frosting, colored sugar, and all sorts of other toppings to make your cookies extra special. And of course, it's always fun to leave out a plate of sugar cookies and a glass of milk for me on Christmas Eve.
The holidays are a magical time, and there's nothing quite like a fresh-baked sugar cookie to make the season even more special. So, grab your apron and get baking! And don't forget to share your creations with me on Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Santa
