As elves at the North Pole, we know that there's nothing quite like a warm mug of hot cocoa on a cold winter night. But when it comes to making the perfect cup of hot cocoa, there are a few secrets that we've learned over the years.
So, we're sharing with you our recipe for the best North Pole Hot Cocoa, straight from Santa's workshop.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of high-quality cocoa powder
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp of cinnamon (optional)
- Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized pot, heat the milk and cream over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the pot, while whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
- Continue to heat the mixture, while stirring occasionally, until it comes to a simmer and the cocoa powder is fully dissolved.
- Once the cocoa is heated through, turn off the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Serve the hot cocoa in mugs and garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
As elves, we know that the key to making the perfect hot cocoa is using high-quality ingredients, and taking the time to make sure that it's prepared just right. We always use the best cocoa powder and make sure to stir it
